COTRUGLI EDIH Hackathon 2024
Ljubljana, 22nd July 2024 – COTRUGLI, the leading business school in Southeast Europe, is teaming up with partners for the COTRUGLI EDIH Hackathon 2024. This event brings together the best companies in the region, offering winning teams support services worth a total of EUR 200,000 through the Cotrugli TECH MBA programme. Following the success of this year’s AI hackathon in Croatia, which saw participation from 40 teams, the organisers have expanded the hackathon to include the entire Southeast European region, covering multiple business fields. Over fifty top mentors from across the region have already confirmed their participation.

Invitation to Companies: Organisers invite companies to register their teams, providing them the opportunity to develop innovative solutions with other experts while learning from excellent mentors. Partners are also encouraged to propose their own hackathon challenges, offering teams concrete problems to solve that will positively impact their business operations and society.
What Ideas are Welcome?
Advanced Technologies: AI, blockchain, virtual worlds, cloud, edge computing, quantum computing, IoT, and XR.
Social Innovations: Circular economy, renewable energy sources, learning and development, EduTECH, workforce shortage solutions, and other ideas with clear feasibility and market orientation.

1. AI TRAVEL ASSISTANT:
Intelligent planning: integration with calendars, suggesting optimal meeting times, managing responses.
Proactive meeting management: suggesting relevant documents, automating note-taking, generating tasks.
Personalised travel planning: integration with booking platforms, suggesting itineraries, generating expense reports.
2. AI PROGRAMMING ASSISTANT FOR GOOGLE ECOSYSTEM:
Integration with tools like Google Cloud Platform, Android Studio, and Google Colab to support programmers.
3. COTRUGLI EDU

Key Information for Participating Teams and Partners
The COTRUGLI EDIH Hackathon 2024 is a platform for companies and entrepreneurs from Southeast Europe to innovate and develop sustainable business ideas using new technologies and social innovations.
Applications open on 1st August 2024 and close on 20th August 2024.
Location: COTRUGLI Business School (Belgrade, Zagreb, and online)
Eligible Teams: Teams from Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, Romania, and China.
Team Composition: Companies register their teams of 2-3 experts with innovative ideas.
Hackathon Programme
- Application Opening: 1st August 2024
- Opening Event (in Zagreb and online):
- 4th September 2024 – Introduction of hackathon goals and participants.
Bootcamp: A three-day online training available at locations in Zagreb, Rijeka, Varaždin, and Novska. Modules include digital readiness, blockchain, IoT, and project presentation training in the first half of September 2024.
- Prva polovica septembra 2024.
Mentorship: Participants will have the opportunity to work with mentors, selecting up to three experts relevant to their project.
- Project Submission Deadline: 15th September 2024
- Announcement of Finalists: 19th September 2024
- Final Event: 20th September 2024 – Teams will present their projects and MVPs.
Projects will be evaluated based on feasibility, innovation, technical readiness, presentation quality, and alignment with sustainable development goals.
Awards and Recognition
The top 5 teams will be eligible for a two-year acceleration programme through the COTRUGLI TECH MBA, valued at up to EUR 40,000 per team. These teams will be featured in the media and on social networks. Teams will have opportunities to collaborate with COTRUGLI Business School and hackathon partner companies.
