SIA Summit Held in Slovenia for the First Time

Ljubljana hosted the SIA Summit 2025 at the end of November, bringing together young social entrepreneurs from more than 20 countries across four continents. Over three intensive days, finalists and alumni of the Social Impact Award programmes, mentors, entrepreneurial experts and partners gathered to exchange ideas, learn and connect.

Among the speakers was Matevž Frangež, State Secretary at the Ministry of the Economy, Tourism and Sport, who highlighted the essential role of young people in shaping a sustainable and inclusive future. He emphasised that young innovators are pushing the boundaries of what is possible and demonstrating that social impact can be a powerful driver of entrepreneurial development.

The Summit programme combined talks, workshops, deep-dive discussions and networking activities. Speakers included Dino Kovačević, Stella Korošec and Blaž Kavčič, who shared their insights and experiences, shedding light on the key challenges and opportunities within contemporary social entrepreneurship. Their contributions underscored the importance of young people in shaping innovative and inclusive solutions.

The event also welcomed the winners of the Slovenian SIA programme and representatives of partner organisations, including SAP, IKEA, Delo, TS Media, as well as the University of Ljubljana and the School of Economics and Business. A special contribution came from the SIA alumni community, including Luka Radičević and Nina Planinšek, who continue to play an active role in shaping the broader SIA ecosystem.

In the past five years, more than 300 young people in Slovenia have taken part in the SIA programme, developing over 80 projects ranging from innovations in sustainable agriculture to digital solutions supporting vulnerable groups. The Summit once again confirmed the strength of a community that grows when young people are given the space, support and tools they need.

Social Impact Award remains free, accessible and open to all young people who wish to contribute to positive social change through their ideas or projects.

Applications for the new season will open in just a few months, so keep an eye out and don’t miss the opportunity to show your potential.

Impact Hub Slovenia has been co-organising the Social Impact Award programme in Slovenia for several years, supporting the development of young social innovators. With the help of mentors, entrepreneurial experts and a wide network of partners, we create an environment where young people can test, develop and present their ideas to the wider public.
