Social Impact Award

The Social Impact Award is an international initiative operating in 19 countries that offers assistance to ambitious young individuals who aspire to use their innovative ideas to address social and environmental issues.

Participation in the Social Impact Award programme provides a valuable experience for both the youth and society, regardless of whether they choose to apply their knowledge in social entrepreneurship, public or private organisations, or other forms of community engagement.

Slovenia is home to over 300,000 young people with remarkable potential to drive positive social change. The Social Impact Award program opens the door to impact entrepreneurship — offering education, inspiration, and hands-on support for developing meaningful ideas. It serves as a launchpad for young people who want to tackle social and environmental challenges through entrepreneurial solutions.

Despite this potential, only a small number of students encounter entrepreneurship (let alone impact entrepreneurship) within formal education. Even fewer receive real support to develop their own projects. Social Impact Award bridges this gap by providing a supportive environment, mentorship, practical experience, and a community that believes in the power of social innovation.

We are confident that the social impact award programme will reach a significant number of students and enable them to unleash their potential as social entrepreneurs.

Being part of the Social Impact Award was such an incredible experience — from the amazing mentors we had the privilege to learn from, to the practical sessions that helped us build our MVP step by step. What really stood out to me was the supportive environment and the chance to be surrounded by a community of passionate, inspiring people who genuinely want to make a difference. Even two years later, I’m still in touch with the SIA team, still talk to some of the mentors, and still hang out with fellow participants — which just shows how strong and lasting the connections are. It’s more than just a program for your project, it’s something that can shape your future and open new doors. I’m really grateful I got to be a part of it.
